This Privacy Policy explains how NatureID (“NatureID,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use the NatureID mobile application on iOS or Android (the “App”).
NatureID helps you identify plants, save a personal plant collection, track care and growth, receive care reminders, obtain AI-assisted plant information, and optionally purchase a Premium subscription.
The information processed depends on the features you choose to use.
When you take a plant photo or choose one from your photo library, the App processes the selected image to provide plant identification. The image is transmitted to our plant-recognition service and its service providers. Do not submit an image containing people, documents, addresses, or other information you do not want processed for identification.
If you use an AI-assisted care or plant-information feature, the App may send the plant name, scientific name, care environment, recent care and growth records, your question, language, time-zone context, and any image you deliberately attach to our managed AI service. Local database identifiers are not intentionally included in these managed requests.
Plant collections, recognition results, care and growth records, reminder settings, cached plant information, app preferences, and recognition allowance information are primarily stored in the App’s local storage on your device. They remain there until you remove them in the App, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to your device’s backup behavior.
NatureID uses Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Firebase Performance Monitoring. Depending on your settings and platform, these services may process app interactions, screen or feature events, device and operating-system information, app version, network and performance measurements, crash logs, and diagnostic identifiers. Product analytics is designed to use restricted event names and parameters rather than plant names, photos, feedback text, or free-form personal content. You can turn anonymous product analytics and performance collection off in the App’s settings. Crash diagnostics may continue to operate separately so we can identify serious failures.
The free version may display ads using Google AdMob. Subject to your consent, device settings, platform rules, and regional requirements, AdMob may process advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location inferred from network information, ad impressions and interactions, device information, and diagnostics to deliver, limit, secure, and measure ads. On iOS, the App asks for App Tracking Transparency permission before using data for tracking where Apple requires it. Premium subscribers do not see NatureID’s in-app ads while their subscription is active.
Payments are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play, not by NatureID. NatureID uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, verify entitlement status, restore purchases, and provide a subscription-management link. We may receive product identifiers, purchase and expiration status, store transaction or receipt information, app user or device-scoped identifiers, and related diagnostics. We do not receive your complete payment-card details.
If you voluntarily send feedback through the App or contact support, we process the message and information you choose to provide. The in-app feedback flow is configured not to automatically request your email address or attach a screenshot. It may include a random feedback trace identifier, the current screen, and a short privacy-filtered trail of recent app actions so we can understand the issue. Support email is handled by your email provider and ours.
Depending on the feature and platform, NatureID may request access to the camera, selected photos or photo library, saving images to the photo library, notifications, and tracking permission. The plant-photo flow disables audio recording. The App does not need your contacts or precise location for its core features. Android advertising configuration may use approximate location or related device signals subject to platform permission and your settings.
We use information to:
We do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising and analytics providers may process data as described above and in their own policies. Where consent is required, you can refuse or withdraw it through the App or system settings, although previously processed data and essential service processing may not be affected immediately.
NatureID uses service providers to operate specific features, including:
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Relevant policies include:
Local plant and care information is retained on your device until you delete it, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App, subject to device backups.
Information sent to recognition, AI, advertising, analytics, diagnostics, purchase, and feedback providers is retained according to the provider’s policies and the period needed to provide the feature, secure the service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We seek to avoid sending unnecessary personal content, but we cannot control the retention of information you voluntarily include in an image, question, feedback message, or support email.
You can:
Apple and Google control store accounts, payment records, and certain legally required transaction records. We cannot delete those records for you.
NatureID is a general plant-reference and care tool and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child in violation of applicable law. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Service providers may process information in countries other than where you live. Privacy protections and government-access rules may differ by country. We use service providers and safeguards appropriate to the services involved and applicable law.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encrypted network transport where supported, access controls, and data minimization. No transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy when NatureID’s features, providers, legal obligations, or data practices change. We will update the date at the top and publish the revised policy at this URL. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or through the relevant app store when appropriate.
